Remove the Cartridge
1) Turn off the printer and unplug it.
2) Open the printer’s ink cartridge compartment.
3) Carefully remove the ink cartridges from the printer. Most Canon Pixma printers have a small tab or lever to release the cartridges.
Locate the Ink Injection Hole
1) On the top or side of the cartridge, there will be a small rubber plug or hole that is used for refilling. This hole is where you’ll inject the ink.
2) Some cartridges may have a protective sticker that you’ll need to peel off to access the refill hole. Be gentle when peeling to avoid damaging the cartridge.
Prepare the Ink Refill Syringe
1) If you’re refilling a black (PG-47) or color (CL-57) cartridge, use the appropriate ink from your refill kit.
2) Draw the ink into the syringe by pulling back the plunger.
3) For the black cartridge, you’ll usually fill it with black ink. For the color cartridge, you’ll likely fill it with a combination of cyan, magenta, and yellow ink (check your kit for the correct color process).
Seal the Cartridge
1) Once the cartridge is refilled, carefully reseal the hole with a piece of tape or the rubber plug Make sure it’s tightly sealed to prevent leaks.
